I bought these to show off my paperweights. They can't take more than half a pound. One of my paperweights weighs a pound and the stand is sagging. They are covered with foil on both sides. Cutting a corner of the foil so it can be peeled off is not an easy task. However, once you clean it, it peels off easily and won't get scratched. Therefore, they are ideal for very light items weighing less than half a pound. Anything beyond that and they'll sag in the middle.
