These bags are amazing. My husband and I have four. They don't have anything special, but they are big and durable. A recent trip we took with us is a good example of how we use it: we wanted to go to the pool. We loaded one up with towels and some books, water etc. We decided that after the words we would probably go to dinner. Put your wallet and flashlights in your pocket. Then we decided that maybe we just need to go shopping. So we installed the other three baskets. We drove to the pool and easily took the bag off the bike. Cooled off, we got on our bikes and had dinner. Then we rode our bikes to the food bank and hung four baskets on the food cart, facing inward, two on each side. (one still had our pool stuff). When we shop, we bag our groceries to make sure we can carry everything. We got a few more than we planned and ended up with $80 worth of groceries in three bags. Then we decided to stop on the way home and pick up my brother's dog because otherwise he would have been left alone all evening and eventually a thunderstorm was coming. We put the groceries in, emptied a bag, and stuffed the dog in (she's quite small, a Shih Tzu. If we needed space, we could easily put beach towels in for her). We fix the valve and tighten it. She can stick her head out and see what's going on, but she can't move enough to get out. (See photo.) More systematically, what I like about the bags is that the attachment system is very quick, easy, and very versatile. I can't put them on with one hand, but I can easily take them off with one hand. The side straps can be used to tighten and fold the bag. Small outside pocket with velcro for some flashlights, keys, wallet etc. - Inside zippered pocket for hanging for some phones, small book etc. - Large size: I can put my school/work backpack in a backpack so it's not too stuffed .- Its two carry handles on the side and also comes with a shoulder strap that is a good length so it never snags on anything but long enough to fit over the head and carry over the shoulder. Carrying a full bag on your shoulder is inconvenient on long journeys considering the amount of stuff you can load it with, but it can be carried on the hip to work, shopping, etc. - They are not waterproof but hold things up well in a little rain. If I'm afraid of heavy rain, I pack sensitive items in more waterproof bags. I also try to position the sides so they don't stick out. Because of the way they are folded, they can try to pop out from under the top flap, which can be a problem in a torrential downpour.
