Review on Sturdy Double Base Plate Cat Scratching Post With Self Groomer - Ideal For Indoor Kittens, Jaoul 21 Design by Robert Aan

Cheap is different than budget

My first impressions when this showed up at my front door was confusion. The packaging was small and significantly damaged. In addition, there were no markings or indicators of who or where the item came from. When I opened the box I realized it was the cat post. It is smaller than how its portrayed in the Walmart listing. The bottom base is pressboard that's cut and folded in half like a monopoly game board. Any amount of rough play will ultimately result in this thing being heavily damaged. The first thing my cats did was knock it over. The scratching post isn't very stable, and when fully built it's evident that the manufacturing is cheap as the lines and bolts don't line up. The post itself was pretty crooked, but it appears to be holding together. There is an obvious odor from the item as well, one that reminds me of cheap imported Chinese plastics. For $20 this may be just what you need, but I have a feeling that spending a little bit extra could go a long way with this item.
