I purchased these filters as a much cheaper alternative to Toddy filters but was disappointed with the quality and performance of the filter. - When you hold the filters side by side, the Toddy filter feels firmer, is more durable and has a noticeably finer mesh than the Essential Low brand. When inserting a filter into a toddy container, the Essential Values filter does not fit perfectly flush. As the filter is much thinner than the Toddy brand filter it does not fit properly resulting in some of the edges protruding whereas Toddy's filters fit perfectly leaving no small gaps at the edges. - The difference in filter quality is also very clear. Due to the finer mesh size in punch filters, even the smallest micro-particles cannot pass through the filter, leaving a very pure cold brew concentrate that does not require additional filtration. Valuable filters prevent the passage of larger particles, but do not filter some of the very fine particles, as well as "sludge" that can remain very bitter. I have to filter the concentrate through additional coffee filters to remove them to make it drinkable, which is a chore to say the least. In general, these filters do a good job of removing larger particles, but they just don't. good job as the Toddy brand filters remove some of the finer particles that can linger even if you brew at a coarse grind.
