Bought this radio to take to the beach to listen to soccer games. VHF reception worked great, no problems. I haven't used it for AM reception but I think it will work fine. I like the selection of digital channels. But then a bit of work has to be done: instructions for setting the time, alarm clock, memory selection for radio stations. emailed the supplier, received the .ipg file for instructions. There was a problem printing this .IPG file. Printed instructions must be included with purchase. I received a document that highlighted the radio's buttons but not the order to set the clock, alarm etc. For now this is a good little portable radio but needs to be honed with a more detailed instruction manual when purchasing.
