If you need AM reception look elsewhere

None of the other reviewers seemed interested in AM reception. If you were interested, I'm sure you'd write what I write. The reception in the morning is terrible. I had a hard time pulling AM stations just 20 miles from me. I have returned this product for a full refund. Nobody seems to care about AM reception anymore. A shame.

Terrible battery life

Superbly small and easy to tune to your transmitters. The sound is actually quite good for what it is. That's what kills this product, BATTERY LIFE. The battery life is TERRIBLE! I left this thing on for about 10 hours while working the night shift and by the end of the night the LCD went black, the blue backlight barely came on and the radio started dying. I replaced the batteries and everything is back to normal. There's no reason to have a portable radio that won't last a day on new…

BIG FUNCTIONALITY IN A SMALL PACKAGE!

I love this little gem! I work in an office and can stream the local radio station through my computer until then I have a lot of lag when trying to win prizes (that's my only break lol) and the reception we have is for AM/FM terrible. Radio. I've tried a few different ones, but to no avail. I ordered this station 2 days before a big holiday competition, put in two AAA batteries and mounted it on my shelf and then, wah la, I magically got a station I could never get! So yes. FM reception worked fine with no problems

Bought this radio to take to the beach to listen to soccer games. VHF reception worked great, no problems. I haven't used it for AM reception but I think it will work fine. I like the selection of digital channels. But then a bit of work has to be done: instructions for setting the time, alarm clock, memory selection for radio stations. emailed the supplier, received the .ipg file for instructions. There was a problem printing this .IPG file. Printed instructions must be included with purchase.

My lifeguard and trusty companion during Hurricane Irma

I spent several days without power during Hurricane Irma, and this tiny radio was my only connection to the outside world at a time when information was critical to my safety. Only with this radio were tornado warnings, approaching hurricane tracking, and other local television alerts for life-threatening weather conditions on AM and FM stations possible. Don't throw away the manual, you will need it. If you lose it, you can find it on vondior.com. This radio gives a good sound and picks up stations well. AM reception is slightly directional, so you may need to rotate it slightly to pick up weaker stations. I spent 30 minutes of frustration before finding out the secrets of its settings.
