Filter Housing Leak Design

Unlike any other filter housing assembly I have seen, the housing is female and the cover is male. That in itself isn't a problem, but there's no groove for the o-ring, and no matter how many times it's carefully removed and reinstalled, it just gets caught in the threads, meaning it won't sit flush in the joint between bodies and lid. .Although you don't have to use teflon tape and NSF safe water thread sealants when an o-ring is involved, I've tried both things that flow like a geyser. It doesn't seal! I'm a professional builder who bought this to renovate my own house and left it in the box for a while before installing it so it's out of warranty. However, defective parts should not give rise to disputes. I have installed other iSpring systems that have worked great. Let's see what the folks at iSpring do with these broken parts. iSpring?
