IT IS PLASTIC AND NOT ALL 1 PIECE - 3 PIECES THAT SCREW TOGETHER. SO KINDA BENT AND MADE CREAKING SOUNDS THAT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GETTING READY TO BREAK.SO GOT A LONG METAL SHOE HORN TO REPLACE THIS INSTEAD AND AM VERY HAPPY WITH THAT. WILL STILL USE THE CLOSE HOOK 1/2 OF THIS - HAS GOOD REACH, ETC. - BUT MUCH HAPPIER WITH A METAL SHOE HORN.
