I wouldn't use it as a welcome mat on the front door but maybe in another low traffic area. The set includes all the necessary threads, a hook with a latch, instructions, a canvas on which the wrong side is already sewn and a plastic box to store everything. There is no printed image on the canvas. at all, but it's marked with a 10x10 grid to help you keep track of where you are in the template. The fabric base is made of nylon with non-slip silicone nubs. They are well sewn, with decorative stitching on the edge. The yarn has a pattern letter code listed on at least one pack of each color. The pattern has a color chart that lists the color of the yarn and its letter code. The pattern itself is full color, crisp and easy to read, and is also marked with a 10x10 grid. The pattern doesn't really exist and they keep calling it a knit kit, an embroidery kit, and a crochet kit. [That's not true.] They say the kit has a needle and a hook [That's not true.] and don't mention a snap hook at all. There are some bad pictures of how to tie knots that don't make sense unless you already know what you're doing. There are no further instructions on how and where to start the pattern or what to actually do. They say don't wash the rug in the washing machine after you're done. It's a good set if you know what you're doing, but doesn't provide enough instruction for the absolute beginner.
