Ideal for practicing speed control and positioning. Adding a mirror is just wonderful! This is extremely useful for creating a consistent installation. It also has four small holes on the back where the stick rests which I use as a reference for my swing length. I will definitely take a mirror with me when I practice on a regular green. The material is so-so. It's like a short carpet, so it doesn't really react like grass, but as long as the surface is even it's still a decent training tool. Mine also has a bit of "grit" which is a bit annoying. If I hit a little off center it tends to roll back on either side (see video). Worth mentioning, but no big deal. The bottom is made of non-slip material, a bit like a drawer liner. It definitely takes it a notch higher than most cheap exercise mats. The shot speed is about what I would expect from a short mat. Slower than the dry turf I play in the Midwest, but faster than most cheap public fields. I can't speak to the simp they quote, but it definitely seems faster than the average public rate (usually 7th), so I'd believe it. It also comes with two bullet stencils which is a great addition. A small drawstring pouch is also nice and makes it easy to move around. All in all a great purchase and gift. The mirror is definitely worth it. Four stars instead of five because the finish isn't quite right and I could see they were selling for less.
