I ordered a size 9, which is what I normally do for boots with reviews that say they run large. I normally wear a 9.5 in boots. Well that didn't do the job here, as these boots fit like 10s. I put a sofcomfort memory foam insole in them, and that seemed to mostly solve the problem. But they are still a bit roomy.Otherwise they are comfortable and very cute with jean leggings. The design is very close to a favorite pair of Madden Girl boots I've been wearing for years because they are just so great. The subtle pairing of the gray boot with the slightly brown boot straps looks just as great IRL as it does in the listing. It just makes them a bit more interesting than they would be if the straps were the same color as the boot.Based upon the reviews, I will waterproof the heck out of them in the hopes of protecting the glue that holds the boot to the sole.I am giving them a 3 instead of a 5 because I think it is ridiculous that they are sized one full size larger than stated. A half size I could have lived with, and that's what I planned for. But in fact they are big enough that I probably would have sent them back and ordered the 8.5 to replace the 9, but it was no longer available in that size/color. So I am going to try to make these work with the insoles, but there are significant issues.This just highlights one of the major problems with ordering boots or shoes from amazon. I wish very much that amazon had some sort of standard specifications for american sizing that all of their sellers' manufacturers had to follow. And that they couldn't vary by more than half a size. That would have prevented this problem.
