Review on Forever Litter Trays® Replacement Durability by Nicole Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended for Petsafe tray users, just bought a second one!

I had cats as a kid I knew I didn't want to clean the litter box every day when we had two babies. The PetSafe Smart Tray was recommended to me and I loved it, but the cost of single-use cartridge bedding was high (not to mention the waste associated with it). I found this toilet shape and it turned out to be perfect! I love the fact that I can use any crystal filler I want (the auto drawer needs a non-clumping filler to work properly) and I don't have to rely on cartridges (they seem to be out of stock now). Cleaning is very easy, after 10-14 days of use I put the tray on the back of the bin and throw everything in there. Pocket. I hose down the tray or in the sink, then let the white vinegar/water mixture run out for a few minutes before rinsing/drying. I've been doing this for over 2 years now and the box is in excellent condition. Why am I writing this review now? Well we have 2 cats and 2 crates and I'm 50% lazy so I used this crate for one and cartridges for the other. Cartridges are easier because you can just refill, recycle, and go. I like to wear them when we're on vacation so I can just put on a new one when we come back and not have to worry about it (or if our nanny needs it). At the same time, the costs were increasing and I realized that the hassle of cleaning this box was worth hundreds of dollars a year that I would save myself. The refill alone costs about $20 for 2 boxes versus $55 for 3 cartridges. You can do the math, but that means the thing will pay for itself in 2-3 months. Not to mention it's less wasteful. I would recommend this to anyone who has a PetSafe tray and is willing to spend 10 minutes a month replacing and cleaning their tray.
