This is a high performance tripod in its class. I had an official GoPro tripod and it was weak; the plastic felt cheap and slippery. However, this GoPole Base is very durable. The legs snap into place and the ability to flip them over to use a different camera is a bonus feature! I like the rubber coated feet for extra grip on smooth surfaces. I usually use mine on a glass table top so this tripod stays in place compared to the official one. Aside from using it as a tripod, I also use it as a mini hand grip. While it's more expensive, I think the extra high-torque thumbscrew is worth it.
