I use this collar daily. for 3 hours taking my furry baby to work and another 2 hours at the dog park. I turn off the receiver when I'm done (it beeps 2 quickly and the light flashes to let me know it's off). It easily takes a few weeks. Previous devices were complex at best. Really not sure if the receiver is off. And the BIGGEST problem with these e-collars is that the charging port doesn't stay connected. I have a retriever and he is ALWAYS in the water. You need a secure block. This model is the first I've found with a matching connector plug. Saved and loaded. The flashing light gives you the peace of mind that you can find the puppy at night. Your pet doesn't need to be shocked, but set it to a moderate level and try it on your leg. Vibration is all I ever need and it does it well. You just have to shake "him" out of focus for him to obey! The best device I have ever bought and I have tried at least 4 other brands/manufacturers!
