and Mountain Biking. I was looking for a more suitable and functional helmet for gravel and cross-country racing. I used a standard road bike helmet but felt unprotected when riding on rough gravel. I ordered the Trace and was pleasantly surprised at how good it felt right out of the box. I adjusted the Vaporfit rear gear to the bare minimum and it fits perfectly. The straps are easy to adjust and feel comfortable. It was easy to adjust the front straps to sit flat. I bought it just in time for the Alabama gravel race. Temperatures were in the mid 70's for most of the race and helmet ventilation was perfect. The start was cool and damp and I was afraid my glasses would fog up. The vents just above the goggles are great for keeping the goggles clean. I evaluated two places, front and back, where glasses can be stored. It keeps them safe and out of the way, almost to the point where you forget they're up there. I'm happy with this helmet for gravel riding and the two races I've used it on. It feels comfortable and most importantly safe when racing.
