I've been looking for a decent replacement for the coasters I bought from Dollar Tree years ago. I was looking for slate coasters as it is a good material and I needed some kind of natural stone. First, let's look at the good points. None of mine are broken and the slate, while a bit thin, is fine for a stand. The included wire holder is good too. Also, you get quite a few for the price (I have 12 rounds). Now not so good things. They don't come with the usual felt, cork or foam pads on the bottom like most coasters do. Below they have small foam balls. That wouldn't be a problem, but the round coasters only have three tabs on the bottom and most of them aren't evenly spaced, meaning they wobble. The last thing I need to set up a tall glass of liquid is a stand that wobbles. You could solve this problem by adding an extra fourth node or just installing a regular base like most coasters do. I'll probably add my own fourth knot (if I can find the right thickness) or scrape off all the protrusions and add some appropriate spacers. However, I suspect this is a DIY level that most people don't really want to do, so I can't really recommend it, at least not entirely. some DIY work for them. This is my final word on this product.
