If you're a bit of an electrician, the wiring is easy - power, then one wire for the fan, and another for the light. After everything was connected I used the default faceplate with no issues compared to what the default image showed. If you're the kind of person who constantly fiddles with settings, you'll find that the sliders are too small (as mentioned by others). However, if you like "set it and forget it" then you won't have a problem. I love it so much I bought another switch for my other bedroom.
