We got this for our five year old, and he's had lots of fun with it. He's younger, so it's taken him a little time to get the feel for the remote control, but he's got the knack, and spends lots of time having fun with it. It's a smaller remote control car, and not so much like a monster truck, as he ideally wanted, but it still works very well. It is durable, although the top sometimes pops off upon impact, but is easily popped back on. This is a super giftable item, too.
