This item was purchased as a Christmas gift for my young child who has issues with the dark. It is so close to perfect for this that it's scary. It's snuggly, soft, and adorable. He LOVES it! It's bright enough to assuage his fears of the dark, while not keeping up or bothering the siblings in the room, and soft enough to cuddle like a stuffed animal. The battery pocket closes securely with Velcro, and isn't hard on him when he's sleeping. Power switch is easily accessible on the animal's foot. The only ONLY reason this is not a 5-star "everyone go out and buy this now!" review is that it says on the description that it has a 15 minute timer for the light. Aaaaaand it doesn't. At least it's inconsistent, and there's no toggle to switch between modes of timer off vs stay on. I've gone in to check on my boy in the middle of the night and turned off the giraffe's light as it was still on. This is a super bummer as it will severely reduce the life of the batteries placed inside (AAs).This is super cute, and if the light timer is not an issue for you, this will be perfect.
