One of my relatives swears that these vacuum sealers are a great way to store food. So I decided to give it a try. I bought these because I found them to be more durable and of better quality. Weighs quite a bit. It's not flimsy or plasticky. The instructions were pretty basic but I had a question about what was said about the water tank. I was looking for instructions to understand why it has a water tank. I thought maybe you need to add some water. There are no instructions for adding water, of course. When I tried the product, I found out what a water tank is. They're actually juices being sucked out of what you're sealing by vacuum. So it's not really "water" but a liquid that is removed when you suck on something. It doesn't mean that this water tank needs to be cleaned after each use, but it does need to be checked to see if it's full and then cleaned. However, I tried it with salmon. So the juices or water he pulled out was the raw liquid from the seafood. I was outraged that he was dragged into the car and left there on the tray. That being said, I highly recommend cleaning it after each use. Otherwise you will develop bacteria. The instructions say to store it in a horizontal position because if you have liquid inside it will just drip onto other parts of the machine. So if you clean it after each use, you can keep it on the side so it takes up less space. I like that it has different settings for different types of items. The cutter on the back of the item was difficult to open where it was. When I took it off the machine, I was able to use the slicing function with no problem. Overall I think this is a good product. This helps keep food in the freezer without freezing.
