I've been using these bags for about 3 years and love them. This is a cost effective solution for LIGHT garbage needs. These bags are very thin and don't appear to be designed for heavy litter, meaning kitchen scraps filled to the brim with heavy items. I use them in the small trash can in the corner of my living room for light trash and find them perfect for my shredded trash. You keep all that confetti neatly til I put it in the trash. I have arthritic hands so opening these bags can be a bit difficult for me. I found it easier to just rub it between my hands to loosen the valves and then finish opening slightly. My daughter can easily pull on the flaps and release them. I can't stress enough that if you are looking for a heavy duty garbage bag you might want to look elsewhere.
