Pros: Price is competitive for a 32-inch IPS panel with a built-in hub, Ethernet is welcome, factory calibration is good. And that's where the good ends, and that's really what a good monitor should do. Have a good image it has. (Try to find it on sale for less than $900). Cons: * Slow travel (let me explain). When using USB C (DP Alt), you must choose between Higher Resolution + Lower Data Rate [USB 2.0] or Lower Resolution + High Data Rate [3.0]*. The IPS panel coverage of this monitor does not match the asking price. I want DELL to give us the opportunity to make it shine. * Smart HDR and IPS Black are TERRIBLE: when enabled, I wonder if it's really an IPS panel or a VA panel. So this monitor is not for you: * if your work requires the absolute best resolution and high data transfer rates. The maximum supported resolution is 4K at 60Hz, which is adequate but doesn't combine with the high-speed USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen 2 data transfer that this monitor advertises. * If you need HDR (it's there, but NOT) * If you want a monitor to make you more productive. The cons will make you look for additional things to add instead of starting. THIS MONITOR IS FOR YOU: * If you can afford it without saving too much if you've been saving on a monitor for a while, please pass it on. If you buy this monitor by credit card on installments, I would also advise against it. * The monitor is also suitable for you if you only need a high resolution and do not need fast data transfer right away. Just one or the other (it's an exchange) * The monitor will also suit you if you need a high data transfer hub but don't care about supporting resolutions below 4k 60Hz (4k@30Hz, 2.5K@30Hz, 2K @ 60Hz). or 1080P @ 60Hz), all testing was performed on a 2017 MacBook Pro at maximum performance with Thunderbolt (USB-C) in DP Alt mode. * This monitor is also for you if you live in the reality that most people don't really need high speed USB 2.0 (up to 480Mbps) anyway. Yes if you have 1Gig internet you will see a drop if you choose high resolution as the speed will be reduced which will affect your internet speed. Yes, if you are transferring large 4k files, you will have to wait forever. But if you are a regular user transferring small documents and random 2GB or 5GB video files, YOU WILL BE GOOD. I wish DELL would take their time with this monitor, I wish they would consider feedback from all previous Q series like QS, QE, Q and listen to users pain points and address them here. SHOULD YOU BUY?* If you can wait to release Definitely wait next year. If you save that money, you'll earn interest through next year and end up with a much better monitor. will impact bills and expenses next month and act then. This is a good monitor just NOT GREAT and not good value for money. Note that even at 32 inches, you'll likely be scaling on both macOS and Windows. This raises the question of whether you really need a 32-inch monitor. priced at $380. For the money, this is a much better monitor, has USB-C, and can charge a 15-inch MacBook Pro. The display panel also looks incredibly good and is on par with QE. With the naked eye you can even assume that these are the same panels. Also, it looks very sharp on a 27 inch monitor. This is the honest and humble opinion of someone who has been waiting for the perfect monitor at a reasonable price for so long. For now I've decided to keep this monitor (THIS IS NOT A PERFECT monitor). It's doing the job for now, but sometime in 3-5 years I'll change this I suppose. And I wish DELL had a program where if they fix all the above issues by next year they could buy them back. I hope this review has helped you better understand this monitor and your purchasing decision. Thanks for reading and all the best! I originally posted this review on the Dell website but was censored and not informed as to why they didn't post it. Just said it's against the community rules. I am not an expert in finance or technology but I would like to share some honest thoughts from the person who bought this monitor with their own money and not sponsors. If Dell only decided to make an ALT DP Thunderbolt for this monitor, then it would be an A+ monitor instead of a B- (since Thunderbolt can transfer both power and high-speed data, but USB-C is limited, and that's where this monitor comes in short.
