First, of all, this controller runs hot. I'm running 3x3 but only using the middle 3 outputs. And I run/use this intermittently. However, when I power off the controller, the outputs are indeed turned off, but the controller is still really hot. When I power off, I want to save energy, as well have it cool down. I expect that the internals are doing all the screen splitting GPU work, regardless as to the power on/off state. I may have to get an IR unit that just does AC on/off.Other than that, the product does a reasonable job of screen splitting.
