This car seat is perfect for our 2.5kg terrier pup. On his first sling ride, we put one of his favorite blankets and Kong on his bottom. He immediately curled up and started napping in it and had enough room in the belt/collar clip to sit up straight and pop out of the top. It remains to be seen if the strap will be long enough to give him the same freedom when he grows up (around 14-18 pounds), but so far so good. All in all he served us well during the half day trip to the vet and some other errands. The material making up the strap and subsequent webbing loops is very strong and durable, and the webbing loops are wide enough for us to thread the shoulder and waist straps up to the buckle. The zip cover/roof is made from durable mesh rubber/plastic that will withstand most chews or scratches and rolls up/pins down easily thanks to strategically placed Velcro straps. The extra shoulder strap is a nice bonus.
