I am setting up a DECA network (MoCA, but slower, may switch to MoCA). I ran a test between one of these and an old clean coax cable (1GHz) that was lying around and transferring files over the LAN. To my surprise, transparent averaged around 8 MB/s and blue (this one) around 8.5 MB/s. Why increase? I don't know, less signal degradation, whatever, but it costs money for a permanent install compared to ultra cheap ones.
