I'll be hiking the PCT next year. looking to go the poncho route to cover both me and my pack. I got this just in time before an all day rainy day. Went on a 8 mile hike. I was dry bone for the 1st 4 miles and then like just about any other "water proof" product it started to wet through and I was still wet by the time I was done. I did like the snap buttons on the sides of the poncho. The brim thing is flimsy. So if you need this for a short time I.E fixing a flat, walking the dog, a short hike yup, BUT if you're planning to be out in all day rain ehhhhh maybe no. I was gonna go with the frogg toggs version, but im guilty of going with this one because of the high star rating.
