Fast assembly. The boards are a little flimsy as they bend down the middle about 1 inch when placed on the bed. (1:00 180 pounds on a Casper hybrid mattress). The distance between them is about 4 1/2 inches, not 4 inches. What worries me the most is that the legs are at the very edge of the frame and I've hit them with my toes a few times already - oops. The solution was to buy bumpers to wrap around, ruining the bed's simple look. The best design is to mount these legs about 6 inches inside the frame, so be aware of that. There are also no attachment options for the headboard. You'll have to improvise if you want to use it with him.
