They are good, but not water and light resistant. The latter makes them useless for actually saving movies, you need a different type for that purpose. 35mm diameter cans are usually available in black with a gray opaque lid. However, they are very convenient for long-term storage of small parts. I am talking about long term storage as the lids cannot be removed by hand. That's the only downside to these jars: the lid is exactly the same diameter as the jar and doesn't have a lip to remove the lid. The only way I've found to remove them is to slide a utility knife between the top of the jar and the lid and then remove it. As I bought them to fit some electronic components I don't need the caps but I had to remove 50 of them!
