Description of 📷 Houseables 35MM Film Canisters with Caps - Pack of 180, White Empty Camera Reel Containers - Ideal for Films Developing, Processing Tube, Roll Case & Storage of Small Accessories, Coins, Keys - 8 OZ, 2" H, 1" W, Plastic

TIGHT SEALING LID: 8 oz. opaque white film canisters with matching style lid. Used for a wide range of professional, educational, and recreational activities. The micro-precision fitted lid allows pressure to build up inside (which is why these canisters are commonly used for homemade Alka Seltzer rockets). Once the lid is secured, no liquid will escape or leak out, even when the container is aggressively shook or held upside down. HIGH FLEXURAL STRENGTH: Each canister is made from high impact polypropylene (PP), known for its elasticity and strength. Identically sized as ordinary 35mm film canisters. Measures 2” high and 1.22” in diameter. Non-toxic, odorless, recyclable, and eco-friendly container. Safely keeps film, food, liquids, and other potentially perishable items safe without leaking or becoming compromised from outside elements. HIGHLY REUSABLE: These incredibly multipurpose plastic canisters are designed for consistent reuse without performance breakdown. The material is UV protected and withstands a wide temperature range, so cold and heat does not impact its contents. Liquids stay at full volume and non-liquids remain dry, even in the most humid conditions. CHOOSE BETWEEN SETS OF 15 AND 60: Bulk purchases offer greater value to photographers, educators, green thumbs, travelers, and anyone looking for simple but valuable storage containers. Canisters are a time-tested tool for storing first aid materials, sewing supplies, seedlings, aaa batteries, spices and seasonings and herbal supplements, loose change, and -- image this -- undeveloped film and/or film negatives. SCIENCE, ART, DIY, OH MY: Whether you’re conducting a series of Dr. Frankenstein-esque experiments or simply organizing craft supplies, Houseables’ film canisters can assist with the coordination of your creative process.

Ideal for various scientific projects.

We used them for our high school science and math classes. They worked exactly as we wanted to poke holes in them so we could show how gases can build up and exert a force on an object in a liquid (water in this case). Fins were made from a small piece of duct tape and thick construction paper to help the "boats" move in a straight line, while the alka-seltzer reacted internally, creating a gas that propelled them forward.

Pros
  • HIGH BENDING RESISTANCE: Each canister is made from high impact polypropylene (PP) known for its elasticity and strength. Identical in size to regular 35mm film boxes. Measures 2 inches high and 1.22 inches in diameter. Non-toxic, odorless, recyclable and environmentally friendly container. Safely store film, food, liquids and other potentially perishable items without leakage or damage from outside elements.

Ideal for small amounts of paint

I use them to hold a small amount of mixed paint or thinner and they work great. I can store paint in it for years and it doesn't dry out. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find them now that movies aren't that popular, so I decided to buy cans in bulk so I have a good supply. Something I don't like about them, having been using them for a month, is that the lids are difficult to remove. The lid is exactly the same diameter as a canister and the lid fits snugly so you don't have to grab…

Pros
  • TIGHT CAP: 8 oz. opaque white foil cans with matching lids. Used for a variety of professional, educational, and recreational activities. The microfine lid allows pressure to build up inside (which is why these canisters are often used for homemade Alka-Seltzer rockets). Once the lid is closed, no liquid will leak or spill out, even if the container is shaken vigorously or turned upside down.

Bad for Alka Seltzer Rockets

I bought these to replace some of our old canisters that we use to build alkaline seltzer and water pressure "rockets" - I've been teaching science and doing this lab for 20 years. We ended up using old cans this year because the lids were incredibly difficult to remove - I had to use a wrench to remove them after each use. Because the lid is so tight, many rockets didn't have enough pressure to even launch. I really need to find old ones. If you need them to store items in a tight container…

Pros
  • HIGHLY REUSABLE: These incredibly versatile plastic canisters are designed to be consistently reused without sacrificing performance. The material is protected against UV radiation and withstands a wide range of temperatures, so that cold and heat cannot harm the contents. Liquids stay full and non-liquids stay dry in even the wettest of conditions.
Cons
  • No power

Houseables Film Canisters with Lids

They are good, but not water and light resistant. The latter makes them useless for actually saving movies, you need a different type for that purpose. 35mm diameter cans are usually available in black with a gray opaque lid. However, they are very convenient for long-term storage of small parts. I am talking about long term storage as the lids cannot be removed by hand. That's the only downside to these jars: the lid is exactly the same diameter as the jar and doesn't have a lip to remove the…

Handy with tight-fitting lids

First, the advert is a bit misleading saying they hold 8 ounces; not unlikely. A typical water fill with room for a lid is only 30ml, or just over 1oz. A corresponding letter will be sent to the seller and this vague wording will be pointed out. It's possible that the reference to 8 ounces is associated with something in the plastics industry as an identifier, but to the average consumer it indicates that a small container contains 8 ounces. remove, but the advantage is that there is no…
