Installed on 2 cages. The light color is definitely a soft white (very yellow). They are bright enough to be used as a lamp/backlight but not so bright that they interfere with other lighting in the room. I was able to extend the wiring by cutting and splicing the doorbell wire (any 2 stranded wires will work as long as you respect polarity) so 4 lightbulbs in my 2 cubicles are powered by a single switch. The power button is great - I used Gorilla Glue to attach it to the bottom of the case so it's hidden but easy to reach and manipulate. I like that the cord is black instead of white so it's easier to hide when routing the cords to each light. The glue is very sticky - this is not a problem with poor quality. The lamps do not feel warm at all even after several hours of operation. I highly recommend it.
