I live in the country so I use a lot of energy. And since I live in a rural area, it doesn't always turn on right away. I have a few candles just in case, but some of them burned poorly, so using a regular lighter in the dark isn't always easy. I've never heard of an arc lighter, but after Sanya, I converted! The lighter just works! I like that I don't have to worry about filling with butane. It feels good in the hand and I like the metallic red body. The lighter came 75% charged, which is very convenient. Charged via micro USB; short cable incl. The battery status is indicated by 4 small dots on the front when the lighter is switched on. The lighter also has a flashlight function which is a great idea. The only negative is the flashlight button just above the ignition button. So it's very easy to press the ignition switch when trying to turn on the flashlight. The best thing is the telescopic pole. I no longer burn my fingertips trying to light half a wick in a candle jar.
