This book has always been on my wish list so I was very excited when I could afford to order it. I got it a few days ago and although it has lots of pictures and crochet patterns, they are mostly lace type. There are a few (very few) of what I call "fabric" stitches - stitches that are variations of single, double, and triple crochets that create a tight pattern. This was my first disappointment. My second disappointment was that the book doesn't list the names of the different engravings. Part of what I love about needle art is the history and stitch names that have been used for decades. For example "crow's feet", "arcade", "moss", " I can crochet from intermediate to advanced and will be using some of the patterns from the book.
