After reading a detailed review by Anthony R. Crane I decided on these shorts. Like most people who buy 2-in-1 compression, this is probably the key attribute we're looking for. They felt pretty good when I first put them on, but I think it was more of a narrowing towards my knees that gave a false sense of complete narrowing. I found that the crotch area hung too low, almost the same distance as the shell. To really compress, the crotch area needs to be much higher to provide a snug fit where it is most desired. When running, this low hanging crotch area became more prominent. I felt more like wearing cuffed boxers under my shorts than actual compression shorts. I'll probably cut out the compression shorts and keep wearing the shell or just use them at the gym when I'm not running. For now I'm just going to get compression shorts, buy some running shorts and cut out my panties. Now it's time to go through all the compression shorts.
