I have an old OTT-Lite with a usable magnifying glass. The replacement bulb I ordered initially looked like it would fit, but after great disappointment I asked my smart husband to look at the old and new bulbs. He found a microscopic difference in the size of the old and new bulbs compared to being able to fit them into bulb sockets (using the calipers he had). He used a file to shrink the plastic dots so the new bulb could fit into the bulb's grooves (and he used some petroleum jelly as a lubricant). Voila, the bulb is in place and it's working great now. I've attached photos of the new bulb's packaging (maybe it was a bad batch?). Close up of the plug end of the lightbulb - from my old lightbulb. I used an ink pen pointer to indicate where my husband placed two plastic dots that fit in my lamp. Hope this helps anyone having a similar problem.
