Comparing round mount to square version

I love these mounts. Previously, I disassembled one of the round versions, removed the vent clip, and secured it to a spot on my truck's dashboard with a small screw. It was pretty good, but my phone fell off-road a couple of times. I decided to look for stronger options. Here's what I found. The round version has 4 magnets inside b. The rectangular version has 6 magnets inside.c. Both are easy to open. -- Round has an elastic that can be removed with your fingers. -- The rectangle has a rubber that can be pushed out with a pointed object. Both have a hole in the middle perfect for a small screw. Six magnets seem stronger than four. Off-Road Bracket: The hole of the rectangular bracket does not go all the way through. I used this as a pilot hole and drilled the rest. After that I pressed the screw. I had already drilled a hole in the dash for the previous round bracket so I reused that spot. I placed both pieces of double sided tape on the back of the bracket to ensure it would fit perfectly on my 2003 Tacoma. Then he simply screwed it in and worked in/massaged the rubber cap with a slotted screwdriver or tool. The last step was the hardest. Keep in mind that the magnets can move slightly as needed during the repair process. Now it's time to hit the dirt and see if it holds. Comparison of a round bracket.
