Having a unique solid spring to allow these clippers to operate, this product is very sharp and ready to cut small branches and stems of plants, bushes, and trees. Not having a regular coil spring, I think these shears are stronger and will last longer than regular tools of this sort. I am used to the spring in the middle coming loose eventually with use, but I really don’t see this happening with this marvelous pair of shears.One handle is red, and the other is gray I guess to distinguish it from other clippers of the company. You can definitely get a solid grip on the sturdy rubber-coated handles since they are curved just right for your hand. Closing the handles to lock is simple and easy with the sliding bolt and screw just over the handles and under the blades.I am going to use this tool for taking cuttings in the spring and fall on my shrubs that I want to multiply and prune for good growth. They can also be used to clear away weeds and vines that can grow thick in wooded or swampy areas. No gardener should be without a few pairs of clippers and shears, so add this fantastic tool to your arsenal of plant gear.
