Within minutes of installing Sonos Boost, I solved a major problem with my Sonos installation. Sonos was unable to work wirelessly with the My Netgear AC1900 router in extender mode. I ran a 45 foot ethernet cable from the router in the office to the Sonos Beam in the living room. Boost solved the problem immediately. Hung Boost next to the router in the office. See my photo. And I just connected his short Ethernet cable from Boost to my Wi-Fi extender. Then I follow the instructions in the Sonos app to adjust the gain. There were several lags where the Sonos One subwoofer and speakers would not play. It took them some time to reconnect to the new configuration. Boost will also allow me to add SONOS speakers in rooms on the other side of the house in the future. A new discovery. My wifi continued to malfunction and lose connection as it had for a year or two. And then the connected Sonos Boost turns off too. Suspecting a dirty power supply, I connected Wi-Fi and Sonos Boost with a combination of UPC and surge protection. (APC 600v) See new photo. Apparently this cleans my dirty stream. 65 year old house in the old quarter. My WiFi and Sonos Boost are now working PERFECTLY. Always functional. ๐๐คฉ๐ฅโก๐ Another benefit of Sonos Boost. I expect to replace my routers later this year and as far as I know this won't be an issue as SONOS Boost has its own internal subnet configuration. So I'll just connect Boost to the new router. Sonos just keeps working as usual. The SONOS engineers are generally very good, but the phone tech support, while friendly and diligent, was rather inadequate for this issue. They should have just advised me to get Sonos Boost instead of wasting all my time on the phone and still not fixing my connection issues with my Netgear router in extender mode. A suggestion to the Sonos developers. I would suggest that you place the Boost indicator and connect/reset button on the front of the unit so that when you hang it on the wall they are visible and accessible from all sides. If you look at my photo you won't see the connect button because it's on the right side with the display facing up so you can't see it in certain positions in daylight.
