Great emergency lantern

I'm putting together a small emergency weather protection kit for a couple of elderly neighbors and decided to order several different brands of this style of lantern to test and see which fits what need. searched. At first they all arrived at the same time so I looked at the box and found sparse but simple instructions. I used the USB charging connector straight out of the box. The light turned red while charging and blue when it was over. I have done the same for others. I set it to max and it lasted a bit longer than the others which ended in just over 2-4 hours but this one lasted a few minutes less than 6 full hours at full brightness. The next time I charged it with the solar panel it charged fairly quickly as it was a bright sunny day. I noticed the plug was AC and tried it on the phone to see if it would charge. It charged it, but a bit slower than the USB charger that came with it, so knowing that a solar panel was used in my kits was a plus. The lamp is supposed to be waterproof but I wouldn't drop it. In a bucket to try it out I feel like it's more waterproof than others I've bought and the yellow hard plastic case is pretty solid. Button to turn on three modes: bright, dim and strobe, then turn off. USB port with rubber grommet for charging, carabiner and hole on top to fix in the right place. Charging via the solar panel took about as long as charging, i.e. just over 5 hours. The solar panel, like most devices of this size, is housed in a plastic case, so you have to be careful about bending it or placing anything heavy on it. , the cable is long and in most cases it is enough to reach the light. It comes with 3 mounting pads and overall it seems to fit what I was looking for. I've only done 2 test runs with each light, so the light life from USB charging might be longer as it's in use, but in our area even 6 hours of extra light when dimmed is a big help. Of the 4 flashlights I've tried, this one worked with all of them. It met my need for affordability, durability, portability, multiple charging options (particularly solar), strong enough not to shatter if dropped, and it, like two others, had the ability to solar charge my phone when needed on the panel . Overall I think this is a great little addition to any emergency kit, backpack, holdall or just for a night bar or campground. Now I can order more and put these kits together knowing they'll be a welcome addition and ready to go when I need them!
