Supplied in a vacuum sealed plastic bag. There are no wash/care instructions for the helmets but given the material I'm guessing it's just a stain? Adjustable velcro on the back and ties on the chin. About a minute after I put it on my 8 month old, it fell back quite a bit after being examined too quickly. He's not crawling yet, but sits perfectly, stretches beside him, and brings his body back to center. However, I bought them after an unfortunate fall onto the carpet while playing (mostly I caught him, except for these two... what damn fast kids). Usually such a retreat ended in hysteria, but not with a helmet! He just pouted and got even more angry that he wasn't sitting anymore. Happy with my purchase :)
