I used this to punch 46 holes in 4 pieces of sunscreen so I can attach them to 4 homemade ABS sheets that I cut out to use as picture frames for a project I am working on about that. The hole punch worked which meant leaving some fabric at each hole and I had to use small scissors to finish the hole but the hole was just the right size so I didn't mind. I'm not sure if this works with other materials. I tried installing the grommets that came with the kit but couldn't get them to constantly crimp around the entire perimeter. Inevitably a portion would remain and I had to cut it off. Maybe it works better on other materials. This sunscreen fabric is made up of tiny fibers that are twisted together and cover the entire mesh. Then I just decided to skip the grommet altogether and attach the sunscreen to the ABS panel with nylon hardware, which is what I've been meaning to do all along. The advantage is that the sun protection is flush with the ABS pane. Although I haven't been able to use grommets successfully, I was still able to use a hole punch, which saved me a lot of time.
