Bought from Kitchenaid to replace a fridge. Unfortunately, the water flows through the filter too slowly to function properly. It takes us about 60 seconds to fill a 12 ounce glass of water. After a few adjustments to our intake valve and trying to set the pressure to flow fast enough, I gave up and bought a bypass plug for a while. Water flows normally through the bypass and I'll leave it in place until I find a working filter.

I have purchased filters from other manufacturers/retailers in the past that did not match. The taste of the water varies from filter to filter. This GLACIER FRESH UKF800 filter was apparently the same as the previous one and the filtered water tasted good. I should mention that the little manual mentions a "bypass" plug. There was no such connector in this filter, so it was a bit confusing. I had to uninstall and reinstall the filter just to be sure and it was a bit confusing.

I think (hope?) it filters our water perfectly, but I would say that after replacing the old Maytag filter we got about 70% our old filter retained water pressure and now there is a very loud hum/hiss. I don't know why the noise isn't very visible in my video, but people in different rooms can see it. I can even hear the filter from above. I was happy to save money, but now I wish I had gone with an actual filter. I don't regret trying it, but next time I won't buy it.

Our Whirlpool fridge water dispenser was a trickle after a year. I had no idea the filter would be causing this, let alone a year later, but a few minutes of research led me to believe that replacing the filter might fix the problem. I looked at the Whirlpool brand and they were over $40 and this brand was 1/4 the cost. To me, this is better than what came new in the fridge and several times cheaper. Will definitely buy again when it's time to change the filter.

We followed the installation instructions. We tested the water after pouring 3 gallons per directions. We then tested the "filtered" water with a meter that tests the purity of the water. We installed this filter in a Whirlpool refrigerator and after two months the water just ran out. I reinstalled it in case something got on the line. Nothing hit. After two months the filter was clogged. valve and everything is fine. After reinstalling, the water was still flowing. I can't believe how much these water filters cost! It reminds me of printers who take our replacement ink cartridges. The manufacturer recommends replacing the water filter every six months. I've been keeping mine a lot longer as I'm trying to stretch the marginal cost of replacing these filters every 6 months. I decided to try this brand and see if they work well.
