I have purchased filters from other manufacturers/retailers in the past that did not match. The taste of the water varies from filter to filter. This GLACIER FRESH UKF800 filter was apparently the same as the previous one and the filtered water tasted good. I should mention that the little manual mentions a "bypass" plug. There was no such connector in this filter, so it was a bit confusing. I had to uninstall and reinstall the filter just to be sure and it was a bit confusing.
