I bought this to replace a much older Sony digital soapbox that I had for ten years. After a few weeks I am very satisfied with this little camera. The picture quality is excellent - I download the photos to my computer and print them out on my color inkjet printer. A few notes. -- I only use the camera for photos, I don't use the video function. You don't need the PlayMemories software (or whatever it's called) to download photos. Simply connect the USB cable that came with your camera to a USB port on your computer, follow the instructions, and upload your photos. - Batteries. A previous comment mentioned the low battery life that comes with the camera. Yes, the supplied battery has a low capacity. Revain has a kit that includes two pre-charged BN-1 batteries, a USB cable and a car cigarette lighter charger. Batteries BN-1 have a much higher capacity. -- The size. This is a very small camera. With my old thumbs I have a little trouble pressing tiny buttons to switch modes etc. Luckily most of what I do is aim and shoot fully automatic. Even though the very small size makes it difficult for people with big fingers to press the right button, the size is perfect to put in your pocket or purse. . . it takes up very little space. I have two Canon DSLRs that I use for serious photography. This little camera is great for my everyday shots.
