Review on πŸ”Œ Dorman 696-608 Engine Air Intake Hose for Mazda Models, Black - Enhanced SEO by Kyle Gresham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does not fit directly - requires modification

My OEM hose was badly cracked and brittle - 2005 3.0L V6 with 110,000 rdg. I put black tape on the accordion part which fixed the problem for a short time. Sure it's a good item at a great price but where the O2 sensor is connected to the hose next to the throttle body. Modification. The OEM "lining" at this point is nothing more than the little knee that comes with this thing. So you need to cut a suitable (OEM) elbow from the discarded inlet hose and graft it onto this new hose. a little lube will help with this - as will Xacto #11. Not much - but be warned - this isn't just a plug and play fix. Mind you, the new part is of good quality and fits perfectly as it should. I just have to deal with O2 cables. (*On further reading, this item is actually a Mazda replacement.)

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Low repairability
