I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE

Overall I am very disappointed with this vise. There are some errors that are not easy to fix. The first of these is that the jaws are not properly aligned in any of the planes (top to bottom or side to side). When closed, the top left corner touches first, leaving a 1/32 inch gap at the top right and nearly 1/8 inch at the bottom right. With the 1x6 clamp, the left side was clamped and the right side was still loose until I tightened the vise VERY tight. below compared to above. This leads to the fact that not all vices are on the same level. When fully open, the front jaw is 1/2" higher than the rear jaw. The third issue is the paint. When I fully closed the vise for the first time after installation, the misaligned jaws slid sideways, causing the paint on the rear Cheek bubbled. It was about the size of a golf ball at first and quickly spread with each subsequent use. In the end I decided to scrape the remaining paint off the heel to get an even finish again. It flaked off very easily and I suspect they painted it without cleaning or priming first. The vise feels solid and I like the quick release feature. However these few good points don't eliminate this product's flaws.I would have sent it back but the box was accidentally put in threw the trash and took it away before I had them fully installed I wouldn't recommend this visa to anyone absence.

Pros
  • Equipped with an adjustable front stop (desk ratchet). Quick release lever for quick adjustment
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other vises
