I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE

Overall I am very disappointed with this vise. There are some errors that are not easy to fix. The first of these is that the jaws are not properly aligned in any of the planes (top to bottom or side to side). When closed, the top left corner touches first, leaving a 1/32 inch gap at the top right and nearly 1/8 inch at the bottom right. With the 1x6 clamp, the left side was clamped and the right side was still loose until I tightened the vise VERY tight. below compared to above. This leads to…

Pros
  • Equipped with an adjustable front stop (desk ratchet). Quick release lever for quick adjustment
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other vises

Worth the investment.

The bad first. The installation (for me) was difficult/difficult. The most difficult aspect is the weight of the vise. If you can turn the installation surface upside down, it will be much easier. I didn't have that option so holding it down to change location/depth/etc was a challenge. to determine. Be sure to try to get a second pair of hands (preferably attached to a patient person). Good. Excellent quality. Extremely durable. I've never had the quick release in a vise and it's a great…

Fair price for a strong vice.

I purchased a 7" model on sale in December to use as an end vise on my woodworking machine. My bench has a 3" thick laminated top which meant I had to remove about 1/2" of material to get it flush with the top. This was a surprise to me given all the videos and photos I've seen of the Eclipse brand vise, which looks almost identical, and some of the larger Yost vises. I expected to have to add padding instead of removing material, but since my bench doesn't have a maple top I didn't mind…

Pros
  • Under Gap (end of screw to back of casting) 11.75"
Cons
  • Lightly dented
