I love this jar. I tried about four other types of ceramic coated glasses before finally seeing and purchasing this one. The rest were either leaking or had lids hitting the nose. This one is perfect - as simple as a paper cup with a small opening and a flip-top lid, and it still keeps coffee hot for hours (better than my old Contigo) and doesn't leak either. The lid is pretty flimsy - a kind of frictional click that will likely wear out over time and eventually not close completely, but I don't care. I even love lipstick so I can feel where the hole is when I go out for a drink! The folding handle is nice too, it frees my hands more when I'm carrying other things. The glass is the perfect size for my hands (kids' hands are small to medium - the Yeti is too big). Firstly, thanks to the ceramic lining, my coffee tastes like it's from a home mug and isn't contaminated with metal. The first time I drank a hot liquid from it, there was, well, a plastic smell coming out of the lid, but I don't notice it anymore. The description says the product is BPA free and I am confident of that. The selling price is worth it and I would pay more for it. Update: After a few months the lid is already starting to fail. I knew this was going to be a problem, but oddly the problem sometimes is that it literally refuses to seal anything that's a problem. I keep clicking on it and it pops up right away, but not every time. Very annoying at this point. And then there's the expected problem of it printing at the slightest touch. I still love the ceramic liner, but I don't trust this glass any more than a paper cup. It has been dropped and leaking a few times. I usually use it for cold brewing so I didn't notice the plastic lid but it still has the smell/taste of melting plastic when I sip hot coffee out of it. Overall maybe worth the reduced price but I wouldn't buy it again and unfortunately I can't recommend it either.
