Let me start by saying that we have a video production company, so we work with a lot of different microphones. To meet expectations, our customers don't expect movie-quality results, so we rarely buy really high-quality equipment. Although we gave the sound quality a 4-star rating, keep in mind that this is a great rating for a sub-$500 microphone. All that background info aside, I'd like to give you an honest review from someone who's pretty knowledgeable about professional gear: So we're in need of a handheld wireless mic for a few events this month and we decided to take a chance on the Comica brand, so our preferred brand was not available. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how good this mic is in terms of sound quality and background noise cancellation. While we typically place mics very close to our subjects (just off frame), on a recent outdoor shoot we had a situation where we needed to position this mic about 3 feet from the subject and below the subject's waistline (stairs). I was expecting it to sound like the mic was far away, but in the editing room the vocal presence was similar to Lava mics. For this reason alone I would buy this microphone again. and will probably buy a backup. As for the sound quality, it's just okay. It sounds a bit dull and the highs sound a bit harsh. But seriously, how many people who buy mics aren't going to put the sound through EQ and pre/post processing? In our case, we just want crisp, clear vocals with minimal background noise. Comica CVM-WM100 gave us all that and a box of chocolates!
