Before you even plug it in, figure out what you want to do.

In general, I like the product. For the most part it does everything I wanted I think. I really wish google maps could track my gps location. Not sure if that works. In Google Earth it is. When you plug it in for the first time, it looks like a virtual COM port. At this point it will work for most things. If you download a USB driver for it, it will configure itself as a USB device and remove the serial COM port, breaking most applications like navigation software and Google Earth that still use COM ports. associate. There is a VCP (Virtual Com Port) driver that you can use to save it as a COM port. But at this point you have done 3 installs to fix possible damage caused by installing USB driver. I have yet to do some testing and actually install the device on a laptop and not a desktop as the desktop doesn't move.

Pros
  • Radio antennas
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly
