These ankle boots are ideal for protecting your dog's paws from cold concrete and salt in winter. They are fleece so they don't feel great in the rain but keep my dog's feet warm when walking in cold weather. Usually the concrete is too cold for my dog's feet and he put his paws up and begged to be carried. He can walk normally and likes to walk in these booties. They are easy to put on and take off which is very important as my dog doesn't like having his paws touched. I bought the size x-small for my 16.5lb bichon which is about 2 inches wide. X-Small fits with lots of space. The boots went up about a third of my dog's leg height, which helped hold them up as long as they were buttoned tight enough.
